L’esmorzaret comes to FRONT courtesy of Vicente Patiño

The Valencian chef is presenting a new menu of six sandwiches at La Marina, reviving one of Valencia’s most iconic culinary traditions through the use of local produce, flavour and a contemporary twist.

Valencia, September 2026.

The Valencian ‘esmorzaret’ has a new home overlooking the Mediterranean. FRONT, at The Terminal Hub, is launching a new offering created by Vicente Patiño that brings one of our region’s great culinary traditions to La Marina de Valencia.
To launch it, Patiño gathered friends, the press and food lovers around the table for an esmorzaret overlooking the sea. A morning to sample the new sandwiches, but also to celebrate everything that happens around them: pausing, sharing, chatting and letting lunch go on a little longer than planned.

Chef at Saiti, awarded two Repsol Suns and recommended by the Michelin Guide, Vicente Patiño is now embarking on a new chapter as culinary director of Valencia Best Places. His arrival at FRONT brings his approach to cooking to a more everyday and informal setting, whilst retaining the essence of his work: produce, season, region and flavour.

Six sandwiches and a real desire to make lunch last a little longer

The menu begins with a ‘tortilla of the day’, which will vary depending on the ingredients and the season. This is followed by familiar combinations such as lean pork with tomato and aioli, or roast pork loin with heaped potatoes and garlic – generous sandwiches that draw directly on traditional Valencian cuisine.

There’s also room for more seafood-inspired flavours, such as tuna, tomato, anchovies and olives, which are particularly well suited to the setting in which they’re served: just a few metres from the Mediterranean.

Among Patiño’s more personal creations are the broad bean and longaniza sausage sandwich with chimichurri, where the intensity of the sausage is balanced by a fresh, aromatic contrast, and the veal ‘pepito’ with spiced butter and fried green peppers – a delicious, juicy take on one of those sandwiches that never needs much explaining.

All served on artisan bread, with the option to round off the experience as tradition dictates. Because here, l’esmorzaret doesn’t end with the last bite: there’s also time for coffee, a post-meal chat and, for those who wish to follow the ritual through to the end, a good cremaet.

From your first coffee to an after-lunch chat by the sea

The introduction of l’esmorzaret forms part of FRONT’s new gastronomic chapter, conceived as a space to experience La Marina throughout the day. The first rounds of toast and coffee give way to a Valencian lunch; then come the à la carte menu, rice dishes, fresh fish from the fish market and grilled specialities, after-lunch chats overlooking the Mediterranean, and dinners as the sun sets.

With Vicente Patiño at the helm of its culinary direction, FRONT aims to revive that quintessentially Mediterranean idea of having a place you always want to return to: for breakfast, lunch, sharing a table or simply while away the hours by the sea. A new dining destination for La Marina, destined to become, in time, one of its classics.
